BAt For Lashes November 1, 2009

I think I’m now an official Bat For Lashes geek as I hope to drive to Luxembourg tomorrow to see them live for the fifth time in one month.
Yesterday, on Halloween (specially decorated stage), they played at the AB in Brussels. The show was great, the sound almost perfect and the crowd was totally in into it.

They were only four onstage as the two violin players I saw at the London shows only toured the UK. It’s pity because they really add something to the sound. Here’s a good example with Horse and I, the opening song during the UK tour.
The tour ends in Paris on tuesday. They are not supposed to play before next spring when the band will open for Coldplay in South America. I kinda hope now for x-mas shows in London but it is pure speculation on my part.
I would love top go though

Live version with string quartet:
This is a song for anyone
With a broken heart
This is a song for anyone
Who can’t get out of bed
I’ll do anything
To be happy
Oh cause blue skies are calling
But I know that it’s hard
This is the last song
That I write
While still in love with you
This is the last song
That I write
While you’re even on my mind

“This was a very typical time. I was single. All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that’s what I had,” so says Steve Jobs pictured here at his home in 1982.

Intimate live version of Bloc Party’ Signs.
The band is about to end their British Autumn tour before taking a (long?) break. They deserve some rest but I hope that they will return after some time.
